How EV Hive handles your data.

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who helps us process it, and how to contact us. It applies to EV Hive Driver, the driver web app, and related charging support services.

Data we collect

We collect the information needed to run your account, match your car to chargers, process charging payments, and keep session records accurate.

  • Account details, such as name, email address, phone number, sign-in status, and KYC status.
  • Vehicle details, such as make, model, year, VIN when you provide it, plug type, adapters, and battery capacity.
  • Wallet and payment records, such as top-up amount, payment reference, wallet balance, holds, debits, refunds, and receipts.
  • Charging activity, such as station, connector, reservation, queue, check-in, session start and stop time, energy delivered, and session status.
  • Device and app activity needed for security, support, troubleshooting, and service reliability.

How we use data

  • To create and protect your EV Hive account.
  • To show chargers that fit your selected car.
  • To process wallet top-ups, charging holds, charging debits, and receipts.
  • To send sign-in codes, payment updates, session receipts, and important service messages.
  • To help station teams manage charger availability, queues, check-ins, and faults.
  • To investigate failed sessions, payment disputes, charger issues, or support requests.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share limited data with service providers only when needed to operate EV Hive.

  • Payment providers, such as Paystack, to process wallet top-ups and payment confirmations.
  • Email or messaging providers to send sign-in codes, receipts, and service notices.
  • Station operators when needed to support a charging session, reservation, queue, check-in, or service issue.
  • Hosting, database, logging, and security providers that help keep the platform available and secure.
  • Regulators, law enforcement, or legal advisers when required by law or to protect users, stations, or EV Hive.

Payments

EV Hive uses payment providers for checkout. Card entry and bank payment details are handled by the payment provider, not by EV Hive. We store payment references, status, amount, wallet movement, and receipt information so your wallet and charging history stay accurate.

Location

EV Hive may use your location to show nearby chargers and estimate distance. You can control location permission from your device settings. If location is unavailable, the app may use a saved or approximate location so you can still browse chargers.

Your choices

  • You can update your profile and saved vehicle details in the app.
  • You can choose which saved car EV Hive uses for charger matching.
  • You can turn off device location permission in your phone settings.
  • You can request account help, correction, export, or deletion by contacting us.

Security and retention

We use access controls, HTTPS, and operational safeguards to protect account, payment, and charging data. We keep records for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and maintain accurate billing and charging history.

Children

EV Hive Driver is not made for children. It is intended for adult drivers and approved testers who can use EV charging and payment services.
